If you’re looking for a way to update your space, or if you have a damaged window, a replacement window might be the right option for you!
Replacement windows are an excellent option for a quick home improvement project when there are budget or time constraints. Replacement windows (also referred to as retrofit windows) have been developed so a contractor does not have to remove the exterior materials of the home in order to install the window. They are measured to fit into a pre-existing space, and it only repacees the window itself, not the entire casement.

What’s the Difference?
Retrofit Vs. New Construction
So it’s a new window, but it isn’t new construction. New construction requires the exterior materials, like the siding and insulation, to be removed so the studs can be accessed. It often also requires adjustments to be made to the framing in order to accomodate the shape of the window.
Replacement windows, also known as retrofit windows, fit into the existing space and framing. They are necessarily slightly smaller than the old window. They are also a much more affordable option, and much less invasive since they don’t require removing anything besides the old window.
